NBA 2017 MVP race – part 12

(Originally posted on Thursday, 9 March 2017)

All the data I used I found on this site:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/

On 8 March 2017 the Golden State Warriors recorded their 12th loss of the season and now there are no teams with less the 12 losses.

With the assumptions described in this post:
http://glen-cook-fan-site.blogspot.com/2016/11/nba-2017-mvp-race-part-1.html ,
according to the data from the games up to 8 March 2017 the current NBA 2017 MVP race list is this:

1. James Harden:      2440.26 (projected team wins: 56)
2. Kevin Durant:      2211.08 (projected team wins: 67)
3. Russell Westbrook:      2111.33 (projected team wins: 45)
4. Stephen Curry:      2058.36 (projected team wins: 67)
5. Kawhi Leonard:      1982.99 (projected team wins: 65)
6. LeBron James:      1930.81 (projected team wins: 56)
7. John Wall:      1765.71 (projected team wins: 51)
8. Isaiah Thomas:      1661.78 (projected team wins: 52)
9. Kyrie Irving:      1470.16 (projected team wins: 56)
10. Klay Thompson:      1451.70 (projected team wins: 67)

Kevin Durant is still 2nd, but his MVP value is falling quickly. The MVP values of James Harden, Russell Westbrook and LeBron James decreased notably too, but not as much as Durant's. By the way: Kawhi Leonard climbed back to the 5th place.
