NBA 2017 MVP race – part 14

(Originally posted on Wednesday, 15 March 2017)

All the data I used I found on this site:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/

On 11 March 2017 the Golden State Warriors recorded their 14th loss of the season and now there are no teams with less the 14 losses.

With the assumptions described in this post:
http://glen-cook-fan-site.blogspot.com/2016/11/nba-2017-mvp-race-part-1.html ,
according to the data from the games up to 11 March 2017 the current NBA 2017 MVP race list is this:

1. James Harden:      2433.74 (projected team wins: 56)
2. Russell Westbrook:      2167.20 (projected team wins: 46)
3. Kevin Durant:      2080.07 (projected team wins: 65)
4. Stephen Curry:      1966.07 (projected team wins: 65)
5. LeBron James:      1915.48 (projected team wins: 55)
6. Kawhi Leonard:      1913.39 (projected team wins: 64)
7. John Wall:      1808.81 (projected team wins: 52)
8. Isaiah Thomas:      1624.98 (projected team wins: 51)
9. Kyrie Irving:      1449.24 (projected team wins: 55)
10. Giannis Antetokounmpo:      1431.71 (projected team wins: 40)

The Golden State Warriors lost 5 of their last 7 games. And only after 7 missed games by Kevin Durant his projected MVP value fell so much that Russell Westbrook advanced to the 2nd place. Well, the MVP value of Russell Westbrook increased on its own, but it is still much lower than the MVP value of James Harden.
