“I'll go barefoot”

(Originally posted on Wednesday, 23 September 2020)

Unused tailcoat
Leaky coat
Worn shoe

Forgotten shawl
Has holed up in a corner
Not fashionable anymore

Every thing
Dreams about something
Set aside
Still wants
To be fashionable
Before it quietly expires

And only when
God calls
Then I'll bid farewell to
All these things and again
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot

And only when
God calls
Then I'll bid farewell to
All these things and again
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot

Lost somewhere
Umbrella, with it
I'm waiting for the rain

Clock doesn't know how
Without my hands
Should lead its life

In a big pile
They mount
Set aside
Each wants
To be
Taken to the other side

And only when
God calls
Then I'll bid farewell to
All these things and again
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot

And only when
God calls
Then I'll bid farewell to
All these things and again
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot

They'll close the door behind me
I'll go barefoot
I won't take anything
I'll go barefoot
They'll close the door behind me
I'll go barefoot
I won't take anything

And only when
God calls
Then I'll bid farewell to
All these things and again
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot

And only when
God calls
Then I'll bid farewell to
All these things and again
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
I'll go barefoot
